Frequently Asked Questions

This page covers some of the frequently asked questions homeowners may have at Walker's Mark. Scroll through.
Q: I am making a change to the outside of my unit. Do I need to get approval from the board first?

A:  For any outside improvements that are made by homeowners that add onto or change a unit an Architectural Control application form needs to be filled out. These types of changes include items such as: replacing doors, replacing garage doors, replacing windows and/or skylights, adding rooftop deck/railing, installing satellite dishes, foundation repairs, any siding work, adding cameras/light fixtures outside, etc.

Please visit the Documents/Forms page for a copy of the ACC and additional details.

Q: How do I know my assessment account balance? Where can I pay my assessment or fees due?

A: Assessment accounts and payment history for homeowners are hosted on the Property Masters Inc website through their online portal. You can access this site through the login portal at the top of the page, or by going to https://propertymasters.cincwebaxis.com/. Do not forget that payments are due on the first of the month. If paying by check, make your payment payable to Walker’s Mark and mail to PO Box 20364 Tampa, Fl 33622.  Make sure your NEW account number is on your payment.  PLEASE note this is a NEW P. O. Box address, so if you are using your bank bill-pay system, you will need to change the mailing address and the account number.

Q: The association pays for water, why did I receive a bill in the mail?

A: Every July, the City of Houston sends out their yearly Utility Bill to collect their annual drainage fee. The charges can range from $15.00 to $30.00 for the year.  This is not a water bill and is the responsibility of each homeowner.

Q: How do I open a maintenance request/work order?

A: For any work requests you would like Walker's Mark to review, please click the link in the top menu titled "Property Management Portal"
. Please include your phone number and pictures of the issue. This will help ensure we can get a quote in a timely manner.

Q: Why is my maintenance request taking so long to get approved?

A: The board can only approve maintenance requests as the monthly budget permits. An estimate received will most likely not be approved in the same month. You can ask the property manager for updates on your request as needed.

Q: Where can I find the paint colors for the siding and fence?

A: The Walker's Mark paint colors are on file at Sherwin Williams.
  • Siding: Sherwin Williams 7045 - Intellectual Gray - Satin
  • Fencing and Garage Doors: Sherwin Williams 7040 - Smokehouse - Satin

Q: I need work done inside my unit, who do I contact?

A: Walker's Mark does not maintain the inside of units. This is the homeowner's responsibility to address. You can visit the Vendors Page for recommendations from your neighbors on service companies.

Q: I have sewage backing up into my home OR my sewer line is clogged, can the HOA please send someone out to fix it immediately?

A: The sewer lines are the responsibility of the City of Houston.  You can call the City of Houston 311 line or 713-837-0311 or visit them on line at http://www.houstontx.gov/311/  They will send someone out to clean the line.

Q: There is a limb that needs to be trimmed, can Walker’s Mark please schedule a time to have that trimmed?

A: Walker’s Mark performs yearly maintenance of the trees throughout the community.  The annual maintenance is performed in August.   The arborist, with our tree maintenance vendor, evaluates all the trees on the property to determine which need attention.  With the budgeted amount of tree maintenance, we can maintain 1/3 of the trees annually.  We currently have an estimated 225 trees to maintain throughout the community.

Q: What is included in heavy pickup trash from Texas Pride?

A: Heavy trash is included on both trash pickup days on Wednesday and Saturday. There are items Texas Pride will not accept like construction debris; to read their guidelines click here. If you do have heavy items it is always a good idea to call and let them know prior to pickup, (281) 342-8178.

Q: I would love to be able to recycle, why doesn’t Walker’s Mark participate in recycling?

A: There is a per household cost associated with recycling through our Waste Management vendor. Because of the significant lack of interest in the community, the costs could not be justified.  It is monitored and evaluated for interest on a yearly basis.

Q: Can Walker’s Mark participate in the City of Houston Trash rebate program?

A: The short answer is No.  According to the City of Houston Department of Solid Waste Management, “The association does not qualify for sponsorship program nor city collection services based on Chapter 39-62 through, but not limited to 39-65 of the City’s Code of Ordinances.”  In summary, we have been denied multiple times since most of our garages do not abut the street.

Q: The City of Houston has a Matching Grant Program, why don’t we apply?

A: Walker’s Mark CAI is a not for profit community, however, we are NOT a 501 (c) 3 or a 501 (c) 4.  In order to qualify for the City of Houston’s Matching Grant Program we would need to be a 501 (c) 4 and according to the IRS we do not qualify for that status.  We do not qualify as an HOA, according to the IRS, because the Association is responsible for the exterior maintenance of the homes.

Q: Can I park overnight in the alley?

A: Long term parking is not allowed within the alleys unless it is designated specifically as Visitor Parking. You may use the alleys to unload/load as long as you are able to quickly move the vehicles.

Parking in alleys make it difficult for emergency vehicles to navigate, your neighbors to get in & out of their units, and may impede an emergency exit if an entrance is blocked. Please utilize your garage for car overnight storage.

Q: I need access to the pool, how do I get a key?

A: Please email [email protected] with a request for a key card with your unit number. A monthly scheduled date for keycard pickup is made by the board member and posted on the events calendar when you can pickup the key. At the time of pickup please have proof of residence. To review the pool key system details click here.

Q: How do I get involved in the community?

A: There are numerous committees and different ways homeowners can assist in making Walker's Mark a great community to live in. Email [email protected] with your interest to help and we'll get you in touch to the right committee for you.
