This holiday season Walker’s Mark Community Association is holding a Thanks & Giving Food Drive benefiting the Houston Food Bank. On October 29th Walker's Mark board members will be passing out this letter and a bag to each home. Please consider filling this paper bag with items listed below and leaving on your doorstep by 9:00AM the morning of Saturday, November 12. A Walker’s Mark board member will pick up your donation on the 12th and deliver to the Houston Food Bank.

National Night Out October 4th brought the community out for National Night Out. This is a night to help raise awareness on crime and crime prevention. The Board used this as an opportunity to help pass out important contact information for the community, while our local law enforcement stopped by to show their support of Walker's Mark, and Scout from Associa paid a special visit to the kids to teach them about safety. Walker's Mark Oktoberfest Fall doesn't just bring changes to colors in the leaves, but also brings about fun fall traditions like Oktoberfest! Saturday October 22nd, Walker's Mark held its first Oktoberfest event where neighbors brought different beers for sampling, while filling up on German dishes and enjoying the beautiful fall day at the Club House. Quite the spread was to be had of Bratwurst and sides. Thank you to all who came out and sampled with us, and a special thank you to SpindleTap Brewery for donating a Brewery Tour and Tasting for 15 to the winner of our Beer Trivia contest. The meeting will start promptly at 7 pm and the public portion will end at 8:30 pm. Homeowners are encouraged to attend to stay up to date on what is happening in Walker's Mark. Saturday, October 22, we are excited to cook up some German classics at the Club House from 2 – 5 pm. As the Festmeisters roast and toast the wurst, we encourage all that attend to bring a six-pack of unique biers for sampling by you and your neighbors. Cups will be supplied. There will also be tasting scorecards so you can write notes down on your favorites, a bier/Oktoberfest trivia contest where the winner will receive a tour & tasting for up to 15 from a local Houston Brewery, and other giveaways and games throughout the event. This is a community-police awareness-raising event held across the United States. We will have a special guest helping teach safety to children, handing out information packets, and turning our porch lights on in solidarity of knowing it takes a community to help prevent crime.
